Maharishi European Sidhaland
Welcome to Europe’s largest permanent group of people practising Transcendental Meditation and the TM-Sidhi programme.
Maharishi European Sidhaland was established in Skelmersdale, Lancashire, in 1980, as a place for those interested in the practice of Transcendental Meditation and living an ideal, healthy quality of life.
It was created through the inspiration of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, founder of Transcendental Meditation (TM), and is dedicated to individual enlightenment for its members and creating world peace through the positive influence of collective practice of these programmes.
At the heart of this community is the Golden Dome, the purpose-built facility for this group practice of Transcendental Meditation, the TM-Sidhi programme and Yogic Flying. In the 35 years that the Maharishi European Sidhaland has been in existence, approximately 1,610,035 meditations have taken place either in the Dome or in facilities used before the Dome was built, an average of 46,001 per year!
Maharishi European Sidhaland also showcases the application of associated health and educational programmes. In the year 2000 Maharishi European Sidhaland won the prestigious British Urban Regeneration Award in recognition of our programmes.
We aim to grow to a permanent group of at least 800, the minimum number required to improve the national trends of life for Great Britain through collective meditation. We welcome new members, holiday visitors, and all those who would like to come and find out more about our programmes and activities.
